IMT Interview Preparation Overview

If you are overwhelmed by the preparatory materials of IMT interview, and confused where to start from, this post is for you.

Clinical Part

  • Start with Medibuddy. Read all the clinical parts from there.
  • Revise clinical conditions from any updated material of your choice- could be Oxford handbook of clinical medicine, NICE guidelines, Passmedicine or even Davidson’s Principles and Pracrice of Medicine.
  • Then watch the videos from Optimize Interviews

Ethical Part:

  • Start with Medibuddy
  • Once you are done with Medibuddy, read ‘Medical Interviews Book’.
  • Check Optimize.

Generic Part:

  • Here you have to prepare all the commonly asked questions by yourself, therefore reading will only help you phrase your answer. Start with ‘Medical Interviews’ book.
  • Read Medibuddy
  • Check Optimize.

Remember, you are assessed on how you have answered the questions, not how you have prepared them. Therefore, it is important how you present the answers. Practising the most important part of IMT interview preparation. Get in touch with consultants, registrars and (fellow IMT doctors- if you cannot find enough SpRs and Consultants) and request them to practice with you and get feedback from them.
